Growing up my Mom always tried to capture special events . . . . Birthdays, Family Events, etc. There are TONS of albums to back this statement. Once I had my own little family I wanted this too. Then something happened on our family vacation in 2009. I was on the beach with my sweet little family when I realized {my wonderful husband pointed out} that I had an eye for photography. He bought me my first DSLR and I learned through trial and error on my little ones the joys of photography. I began hobby photography that has since bloomed into a fantastic endeavor. I smile with and even get teary eyed capturing special memories for my clients. We live in a small community where so many faces are familiar, but through this adventure I've made many new friends! I am truly thankful for the opportunity to share in each of your special memories!
Q & A with your Photographer:
How long have you been doing this?
My first client reached out to me in 2010 so going into year 15!
What kind of training do you have?
I have no formal training just practice, practice, practice! I started learning my cameras manual features soon after I got my first DSLR. So to answer that question fully: I am self taught. I take great pride in that! I am constantly researching techniques, lighting, and the latest technology to give you the very best end quality products!
What kind of camera equipment do you use?
I am a Canon girl! I shoot with professional grade Canon EOS 1DX full frame bodies and I also have several back-ups. I use Canon L series lenses and have a variety of favorites: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm. I also have an expansive Studio Collection of lights, backdrops, and flash kits. My son helps with Video projects and we use DJI gear for that.
Do you release images without watermarks with a Print Release?
Yes and No. Specific contracts I do not release digital access to but those are limited to my work with School or Sports Photography. ALL sessions booked with me for lifestyle sessions or Weddings not related to school or sports are given full access to Edited photos via an online downloadable gallery.
Do you travel?
YES! I love to travel so paired with my love of photography that is a win/win!
Is your turnaround time quick?
I always disclose to my clients that I do work a Full Time job Monday-Friday and I'm a Mom and Wife. Photography is my love and passion so I make the time to make this work. My turnaround times are not the quickest but I do strive to get galleries back in a timely matter. Typically my regular sessions are up to 2 weeks and Weddings 6-8 weeks. I won't ever rush your images because I believe in quality and honestly that takes time!
What is your Editing Style?
I have a passionate belief in QUALITY. I have honed my craft to make sure the final images you see not just look great on the screen, but also in print. I use a 2 phase editing process and do not use filters, overlays, quick process presets, etc. I spend a lot of time ensuring your images are AHHHMAZING! So, back to the question, I don't have a specific editing style. I go by what the shoot gives: Authentic colors, backgrounds, and lighting! I'm trying to hone in on my perfection tendencies, but until then all blemishes and stray hairs are still not safe ;-) A normal session typically takes me anywhere from 2-5 hours to edit/process. I feel that you as my valued client deserves every second of this time!
